The Orange County Collaborative Court programs are incredibly successful. Eighty percent of participants graduate and less than twenty percent of graduates are re-arrested over a three year period. These programs save – just in the short term – $10 for each dollar spent. In the long term, those savings are magnified many times over and families and communities are safer and stronger.
COLLABORATIVE COURT PROGRAMS
The Foundation provides critical support to Collaborative Court program participants – individuals who are working hard to break the cycle of addiction or address mental health issues and become productive members of society. When requested by the Courts after a determination of need, the Foundation helps participants by funding and coordinating vision care and dental services, supplemental mental health counseling, interim housing, public transportation vouchers, educational assistance, tattoo removal and other services. The Foundation also provides cultural and recreational activities, as well as workshops on topics such as financial literacy, health/wellness and job skills.
